Stylin' in her first pair of jeans

Abby was cuter than ever in her new jeans! AND just to balance our sports teams we had to represent the Yanks this time.

Sleepy girl!

Abby's sleep patterns continue to keep us on our toes! They are still pretty unpredictable during the day, but getting a little more standard at night. She is still sleeping at least 7 hours at night, but we are working on figuring out the right bedtime for her. She has started to be overtired at the time we had been putting her to bed (making it harder for her to fall asleep), so we are going to move her bedtime up. We thought that might be a good idea after she slept through her before bed bath time the other night! We thought for sure she would wake up when she hit the water, but I think that made her sleep even better. We washed her and got her to her changing table before she woke up briefly to have her nightly chat session with her daddy and then go back to sleep.

Sidenote: Every night I get her ready for her bath while Joe gets her bath ready. We bath her together (sing some fun songs!) and when we are done Joe takes her in to get her in her PJs, then brings her out to me to feed her. One of the best parts of the night is to listen to Abby and Joe over the monitor (I am working on capturing this on video). They have conversations. It is so sweet! So, you can see why Abby couldn't sleep through that part of her evening routine!

Another fun bath time moment: When we know the bath is lasting a little long and Abby is getting hungry....no tears....just trying to figure out how to get what she wants...no food there!

AND speaking of sleeping through the night...
This is how we found Abby yesterday morning when we went in. It was 7 and she was just talking in her crib waiting for us to come and get her. Can you believe she made it into this position at some point in the middle of the night without making a sound? So funny!

Good Morning Mommy and Daddy!

A Great Night's Sleep

Breaking news...

Abby slept until 6:30 this morning! Woohoo! It has been nine weeks since an alarm as woken me up. So, you can imagine how shocked I was this morning when Joe's alarm woke me instead of Abby. What a treat! When Joe went in to get her, she smiled up at him. Now, let's see if she does it again tonight... :)

Getting excited

Abby is communicating and responding so much. She is talking and smiling a lot (even more than this video shows). It's so sweet.

Spring has arrived in NY

We are so excited the weather is getting warmer and the sun is out. Abby loves going outside. She looks everywhere and takes in all the sights and sounds (while making lots of sounds herself). On Saturday, we took a family walk around the neighborhood. It was wonderful!

What a peaceful way to fall asleep...

Trying to fit all 3 of us in the picture while Joe holds the camera!

2 months old!

Abby is 2 months old! Can you see from the picture how much bigger she is? I can't believe it. At her two month doctor's visit, she weighed 11 lbs. 12 oz. and measured 23 1/4 inches. She is getting so big. It was also time for her first round of vaccinations. I am so thankful Joe was there with me. It broke my heart to see her get so excited and smile at the nurses when they came over to her and then burst into tears when they gave her the shots. She did great though and once she got lots of mommy and daddy kisses she was calm. She struggled for about 24 hours with a fever and discomfort, but now she is back to normal and we are enjoying lots of family time this weekend!

First trip to Syracuse

On Tuesday, Abby took her first trip to Syracuse! It was her longest car ride too. She did great and slept the two hours on the way there and back. Joe and I had doctor's appointments, but in between our appointments we had the chance to visit with some good friends and introduce Abby to people who have been waiting to meet her.

We had lunch on Marshall St! It felt so good to be back at SU on a sunny Spring day. SO so many great memories that we love to revisit! We ate at Varsity with Emily, BrandiLee and Gavin.

Abby & Emily...

...and then she met her new little buddy, Gavin.

For dinner, we went to spend time with one of our favorite families. Dan and Jen have been mentoring us since our premarital class and throughout our first years of marriage. It was really special for us to introduce them to our little girl! What a journey it's been!

It was a great day!

All dressed up and ready to go...

Could she be any cuter? Here she is all dressed up and ready for church this morning! She looked adorable in her dress from her Aunt Chrissy and her new tights and headband from Grandma.

Special Day Out

Yesterday, my mom and Casey came up for the day to visit. Abby and I really enjoyed spending the day with them. We went out to lunch at Red Lobster and then spent some time at the mall. My mom and I had lots of fun trying on clothes together (especially the pants!). Abby slept through the whole shopping trip, but kept Casey company while he waited patiently for us to finish. When we got home, my mom made us dinner...her speciality and my favorite, Chicken Scallopine and Mashies! For those of you who don't know what Mashies are: it's my family's word for delicious mashed potatoes. Joe was resistant to our potato nickname at first, but after almost three years in the family he is catching on! We really enjoyed our dinner and spending time together.

Baseball season

Uncle Brad and Uncle Tommy decided the moment they found out Abby was a girl that they would start early in creating a little Phillies fan. They bought her a sweet little Phillies outfit and bib. Uncle Cory is sure that Abby will be a Yankees fan. Her Grandma is rooting for the Mets. Seriously...when it comes to sports we just hope our little girl loves SU! She can decide the rest. ;) Though I don't have the strongest baseball loyalty, I did grow up a Yankees fan! (fun World Series in our home last season) I can't help but wonder if Abby is taking a stance a little earlier than we thought...

Some more fun moments...

SMILE!

Abby is lighting up our days even more with her newest development: lots of smiles! It is so sweet to walk in her room in the morning or go over to her while she is in her chair and see her big smile when she recognizes us. Just imagine what we will do when she starts laughing. She is adorable!

She is loving her play gym. She loves the colors and the fun animal toys hanging from it. She is cooing and making lots of noises. She is already a talker! ;) Today she said Ah-goo. When Joe and I walk out of the room, we can hear her communicating with her animal friends.

Abby meets little Will!

Dave and Megan welcomed their fourth little one (and first boy) on February 17, exactly one month after Abby was born. They are going to be great friends! Abby and Will weighed the same when they were born (7 lbs 8 oz), so it was really fun to put them side by side and see how much Abby has grown in 6 weeks!

Abby was in a deep sleep, but Will was very excited to meet his new friend! Look at how cute they are!

My new hat!

Keeping warm in her new hat from her Aunt Cyncy.

Grammy & Granddaddy come for a visit

Grammy and Granddaddy came for a visit! They arrived on Saturday and spent some quality time with Abby while Joe and I got to go on a nice long dinner date! We enjoyed every minute of it. On Sunday morning, we all went to church together in the morning and then spent the afternoon watching the USA/Canada hockey game. We had lots of fun.

Abby watching the game with the guys (her Daddy, Granddaddy and cousin Robbie), while me and Grammy were in the kitchen cooking.

Abby meeting her cousin Robbie for the first time.

...and then maybe she got a little bored...

She is so so sweet! [and even cuter with her stripped sweater outfit from Zakiya! Thank you. :)]
