Enjoying our last days of summer

Enjoying the last days of summer...

So big

Here is a glimpse of Abby during playtime! There is something about these that make her seem so much more of a big girl! Don't you think? Especially how she responds to me in the video. She is so much fun to play with. Yes it's true...I love every minute of playing blocks with her. She is sitting up all by herself. I put the pillow there for added cushion!

After dinner and before bed, Abby watches 20 minutes of Elmo's World. She loves it just as much as she loves her Elmo's song video clip.

And just when I thought she wasn't paying attention to me at all....

Bath time!

Abby has always loved her bath...since the very first one. It has been fun to watch bath time evolve from a quick clean-up to some splashing and now to play-time! She plays with her little rubber duckies. I think her favorite bath times are the ones her Daddy gives her. Sometimes I stand outside the door and and listen to them laugh and squeal with excitement. There is always lots of splashing too!

Hello Rocky! Abby looks like she is a boxer gearing up for her next fight, but she is really headed for the tub! :)

Swing!

Saturdays are the best! Especially when the weather is beautiful and we have lots of time to spend together. Today we took a walk together as a family and stopped by the playground for Abby's first time on a real swing! She had lots of fun.

Made with love

My Nagymama sent Abby a handmade sweater and hat for the winter. Made with love...just like the sweater she made my favorite baby doll when I was little. I love it so much that I made Abby take a picture in her new hat with her first baby doll (also picked out by Nagymama!).

Thank you, Mamama!

Williamstown, MA

On Wednesday, our staff team traveled to Williamstown, Massachusetts. We visited Williams College where a significant prayer meeting occured over 200 years ago. In 1806, five men were praying for world missions when God revealed to them the need to go to the world and tell people about Jesus. This became known as the Haystack Prayer Movement.

Today the Haystack Prayer Monument stands at Williams college as a reminder of what God did, not only in the lives of the five, but also in the life of Luther Wishard 80 years later. Luther, inspired by the Haystack Prayer Movement, initiated the mobilization of 100,000 college students through the Student Volunteer Movement. That moment in 1806 under the haystack was the spark for the greatest missionary movement that the world has ever seen.

As our team spent the afternoon there, I couldn't help but thank God. Because of those men's faithfulness and obedience to God's call, I am where I am today! Prayer is powerful!

It was a beautiful day to eat our lunch and enjoy being outside.

When I was packing our lunches, this sight made me smile. Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear. :)

This monument marks the location where the prayer meeting happened that day. The girls enjoyed it!

The older girls were so sweet to Abby. They played with her and made her laugh a lot. Samantha told me she likes Abby and would like Abby to come to her birthday party in October!

For a good laugh...

Excited

More Summer Happenings

Every morning, Abby enjoys her "jump-jump" in front of the window. She loves the trees and looking outside.

Every afternoon we go to the pool if we aren't busy. She gets excited as soon as I put her swimsuit on.

waiting for me to get ready...

"Let's go, Mommy!"

My college roommate, Jenn, came to visit for the day and brought her two daughters, Kylah and Jayda.

Abby and Kylah before their swim

Did you think I was exaggerating about the scooting? Before I went into the kitchen, Abby was on her stomach on the center of her playmat...when I came back out five minutes later...surprise! Too cute!

7 months old!

Abby is 7 months old! She is always learning something new. I have so much fun with her everyday. (Seriously!)

Compare this pic to her one month picture. I laid her on the same cushion.

Abby is sitting up all by herself, but I don't go far because when she's over it she throws herself backwards with all her might.

"Mommy, I don't really feel like taking pictures!"

Abby turned 7 months old and her buddy Will turned 6 months old the same day.

Abby took Will's toy and then he started sucking on her feet!

Abby is getting closer and closer to crawling. She scoots around a lot now. I can imagine life is going to get much more active very soon. Until then, I am enjoying my somewhat stationary baby. Below is a common daily scene in our home:

"Oooo I want my ball!"

"I think I can get it."

"I can't reach it!"

These have been the best 7 months of my life!

Pears!

Abby helping herself to her lunch! She is such a big girl!

Jump Jump

Abby has been enjoying her new stationary entertainer. I was like a little kid on Christmas the first time I put her in it. I couldn't wait to see her explore each part. Seeing the world through her eyes is so much fun! Everyday there is something new to enjoy. Her feet just reach the bouncy bottom and she is really starting to get the hang of it.

That's enough pictures, Mommy!

We're so blessed! I can't thank God enough for allowing to spend my days with this precious little girl!

Vic and Ali's wedding!

On Sunday, we celebrated with my family as my cousin Vic married Ali! I'm so happy for them! We traveled to Connecticut for the wedding. Abby came with us for the first half of the wedding and when it was time for bed we brought her back to the hotel where she stayed with a babysitter. It was a lot of fun.

"My Papa! I love your mustache, but only when I can play with it. Ummm, otherwise I'm not so sure."
