Just because...

...I think these are the cutest jammies EVER!

Oh yes, that's Abby rolling across the room to see George and Robin on Good Morning America!

I think this is a good picture to show how LONG she has gotten.

Seriously, are they cute or what?

Papa's visit

My dad came to visit us for lunch this week. Abby warmed up to him really quickly and they started to play games together. She especially loved his gold necklace and glasses.

Wiggle Worm

Abby attempts to figure out how to pull herself over and off the changing table.

Hey Mom! Look what I can do!

Fall Getaway

This past weekend, Joe, Abby and I packed up the car and headed to the Upstate New York Fall Getaway on Seneca Lake. Each year, students on college campuses from Buffalo to Albany gather to worship God, grow in their relationship with Him and have fun together! This was the 6th year Joe and I have gone. Wow! Time flies. I can't believe I have been going since MY junior year in college. I love it there and I look forward to the weekend every year. This year was especially sweet because it was Abby's first!

As always, God worked in really cool ways. Both students and staff heard from the Lord this weekend. Not only was it a great time of ministry, but personally and for our family as well. I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with good friends (who also happen to be moms on staff). We would spend time together while our little ones played (or looked at each other) and then we would sit and chat for hours when all the kids were in bed. I love this stuff! It was just what I needed. I count it such a blessing that God has allowed me to serve Him in this kind of environment. It's fun to think about Abby and her little buddies growing up together.

on our way...

hanging out with Daddy in the morning

Early in the morning everything was so peaceful and still. Perfect time for a family walk.

So Big!

lunch date with Livy

Can we be friends forever?

Deanna was in Wildwood with us this summer. Abby loves the sweet songs Deanna sings to her.

swinging with Hannah. Anna Kate is pushing Abby on the swing! She's such a good helper. She told me she wants babysit Abby as soon as she gets a little older.

B-ball girl

Before Abby was born, my friend Alana bought her her very first pair of Nikes and a basketball rattle. Alana wanted to make sure Abby has everything needs to be a "baller". Not to mention pink and silver Nikes are adorable! Please note: Abby isn't just dressed up as any basketball girl, but a Syracuse basketball girl! GO 'Cuse!

Hey Daddy, look at my sneaks!

Checking them out...

Slam Dunk!

Thank you, Alana!

Water please!

Abby has started helping herself to our food and drink. She not only reaches for the glass when I'm drinking, but she grabs it and takes a drink herself. The best is the proud look on her face after she does it.

8 months old!

Oh how the months fly by...

Dad...I'm ready...

As I have shared in previous posts, one of Abby's favorite times of day is when I bring her in to the bathroom for her dad to give her a bath. It is fun to see how much more aware she has become. When she hears the tub start running she looks in that direction and makes excited noises. After I get her ready for the bath, I carry her to the door and she grabs the edge of the door, pushes it open and peeks her head around to find her dad. You have to be here to see how adorable it really is! This picture will give you an idea:

Mirror, Mirror on the wall...

Abby loves to sit in front of the mirror in her room and play. She has really started responding to the "baby" in the mirror and I was finally able to catch it on video. I don't think she knows it's her yet, but she is fascinated by the little baby moving in the mirror.

Prodigy?

So what's new?

What's new with Abby:
  • She has not just one, but two bottom teeth.
  • When we go to the store and the cashier (or another customer) doesn't pay attention to her when she is looking at them, she makes herself known. She yells at them until they look and then she smiles!
  • She thinks it's funny to spit her food at us! (could be because we have a hard time not cracking up every time she does it)
  • She is not crawling yet, but has been getting around. If she wants to get somewhere, she rolls to the other side of the room.
  • She talks a whole lot. It might be baby talk, but she is a communicator for sure!

Latest photo shoot below (how can I resist?):

Fast asleep

I just had to share how sweet Abby is when she sleeps. She is doing great and napping really well now. She naps twice a day, her first around 8:30 and her second around 12:30. On Sunday morning, I think she was having an especially good rest because I was able to sneak in a get these shots without her moving an inch.

She tucks her little hands under her when she sleeps.

Joe says we look alike when we sleep....Maybe he is referring to the mouth wide open and the drool puddle next to her face? Hmmm...I don't know!

Hanging Out

Some new pictures...

Check her out in her sweats and sneaks!

She is not really sure what to do with her shoes. When we put them on her, she rubs her feet together a lot and then just stares at them with a big smile on her face. In this picture, eh you know...she just decided to eat them! :)

Aunt Chrissy came for a visit!

First time on Daddy's shoulders. This was also her first time tasting black raspberry ice cream with sprinkles. Oh no...we didn't give her any, but when her daddy got his cone she swooped in before we could stop her and got some for herself!
