Juliet Grace: 18-20 months

Our spunky and sweet little firecracker-

Oh how you make us laugh! You give the best open mouth kisses, the biggest hugs and still keep us wondering with that "look" of yours. :) Once you started walking, you haven't stopped. We always talk about how you are the first girl in our family who has refused to sit down and play with toys. You are always on the go. You wake up in the morning and bring us your shoes. If we bring home groceries, you unload every bag and then carry the items around the house. You walk laps through the living room and kitchen. You like to find bags, fill them and carry them around with you. Of course, I can't forget the fact that you love to dump out the tampon drawer every time you are in the bathroom, leaving a big trail for us to clean up daily.

You love to dance and have made it especially difficult for us to sit and watch your sisters dance classes because you spend the whole time trying to bust out of the waiting room to join the class. AND if a Trolls song comes on...forget it. You break it down right where you are! Like at Preschool Dance Night when your song came on, there was no stopping you! Go Girl!

Favorite songs include: the entire Troll soundtrack, Better When I'm Dancing by Meghan Trainor, the Kidz Bop version of PriceTag, Ready or Not by Britt Nichole and Gold by Britt Nichole

You stayed awake and danced through your sisters' entire dance recital. It's almost your turn!

Your laugh is the best!

In the last few months, you started saying a few more words. You say Mama, Dada, Abby (baba), Ella and Ollie. You've mastered NO with a trademark Juliet head shake that everyone knows. Mainly because it's your answer for everything and for everyone who wants to come remotely close to you. If it's isn't Mommy, Daddy or your sisters, you have no interest in being touched or held by anyone else. After a field trip to the farm with Ella's class, you started "baa-ing" like a sheep. Then, Abby taught you to make the horse sound with your lips (so cute!) and that a cow says moo. Just yesterday, you learned the word cracker!

You like reading books. Your favorite TV shows/characters are Elmo (Sesame Street) and Daniel Tiger. You've even started bringing us the remote and pointing it at the TV when you want to watch something.

I think you are our pickiest baby by far when it comes to food. You have decided which foods you like and which foods you have absolutely no interest in. The only vegetables we have successfully gotten you to eat and enjoy are tomatoes and sweet potatoes.Every now and then you surprise us.  So, it was a huge victory when I made a green shake full of veggies last month and you kept asking for more.  You love fruits, especially bananas and berries, and could eat yogurt for days. Other favorites include peanut butter or creamcheese toast, ham, turkey, pasta and mac and cheese.

Whether it is crayons and coloring books or my pen and notebook, you love to color and scribble!

Our time outside together has been extra fun as you've started exploring every thing on foot. You love your slide, little house and car. As for the swing, you want nothing to do with that motion and won't even let us put you in it this summer. You love going on long walks in the stroller and even strolling around the neighborhood by foot.

Juliet enjoyed her very first solo date going out to eat with her daddy.

Just two little sisters taking over dance class. Brinley and Juliet are best buds!

You started walking in March!

You loves your shoes. Not long after you wake up every morning, you bring us a pair of shoes and let us know you are ready to head out on an adventure. And new shoes....she's not even two and her eyes light up at the sight! She will sit right down and hand you her foot.

We love you so much, Julie B! You make our family complete. I love being your mommy!

March Snapshots

Juliet is getting so big! On this morning, she brought me the remote as soon as her sisters left for school and pointed it at the TV, so I would put on one of her favorite shows. Then, she climbed up onto the couch, settled in next to her puppy and watched some TV in her jammies.

Ella (on the way home from school): Oh yes!! Grandma is coming today and we are going to play dollhouse. I love having someone to play dollhouse with!
Me: I play dollhouse with you.
Ella: But Grandma LOVES my dollhouse!

All very true. I love how excited my girls get when Grandma comes to visit because they know she is going to spend lots of time playing with them.

Movie afternoon with Grandma

It was an exciting day when Abby's hair was long enough and thick enough for a braid! 😊

Family movie night 💜

One of Juliet's very favorite activities is helping Mommy and Daddy unload the dishwasher.

Most days Nagymama is sad that she is so far away from all of us in NY. During Blizzard 2017...not so much. Her message to Joe (as she laughed and drank her coffee poolside): "The sunshine will come after those clouds. Don't worry. Spring is near!"

Ella's pet egg mouse

Juliet's second most favorite activity is unloading all the clean clothes from the baskets, carrying them all over the house and "dressing" herself with all the things. (third favorite: unloading all the lady products from the bathroom drawer and spreading tampons throughout the house. 4th: unloading our grocery bags 5th: filling reusable grocery bags with everything she can find like clean laundry, tampons, shoes and the fresh groceries)

One of my favorite parts of the school year has been the time I've spent volunteering in the library. In March, I filled in for the school librarian while she was on vacation and it happened to be Dr. Seuss' birthday. So, we laid out a huge banner and the kids made beautiful Dr. Seuss inspired artwork all over his giant birthday card.

One of the reasons I love our school...Ella hanging with the fifth grade girls!

My baby takes the meaning of mommy's girl to a new level. She is so so sweet.

I just needed a minute to regroup before the dinner/bedtime crazy that was about to go down over here. Clearly, they didn't think so...even the dog.

The Strong Museum and Nana

Joe had to travel to Rochester for a weekend conference, so the girls and I tagged along to spend time with Nana and visit the children's museum with a good friend. We loaded up the car, ate dinner on the road and rolled into the city way past bedtime.

The girls were so excited to be on a mini winter adventure. They love any opportunity to roll their own suitcases.

Hotel rooms = late nights, TV in bed and sister pileups

The next morning, Joe headed down to the conference early, so the girls and I were on our own. Abby and Ella had breakfast in their hotel fort while watching Saturday morning cartoons!

Then, we headed out to meet Laura at the museum! We were especially thankful for a new play museum to explore when we woke up to five inches of snow and temperatures that were barely reaching 5 degrees. Oh Rochester!

The mini Wegmans was the best. We would have played in there all day if we could have. Even Juliet did some grocery shopping. 😊

Is this not every little kid's dream? I know it was mine...for sure!

It was a fun and refreshing morning hanging with Aunt Laura at the museum.

Are you there, Elmo?

A little grocery shopping!

Abby and Ella were really excited when they saw a real life Braille machine because we had been spending so much time learning about Helen Keller. They both practiced typing their names in Braille letters.

This picture makes me think about all the years I sat across from Laura at a table in the Schine Student Center while she shared all of her wise words with me! God has used (and continues to use) her friendship to change my life. I love that my girls get to know and spend time with her now!

My babies 💜

After a full morning and some much needed afternoon rest time, we had a great night at Nana's house. Abby told Nana stories and danced for her. Ella rode on Nana's chair with her and gave her hugs every ten minutes. Juliet taught Nana where her belly is and kept everyone laughing.

Juliet found her favorite spot in Nana's house and she was NOT happy when it was time to go.

We missed daddy while he was at the conference all day!

The next morning, the girls and I headed to breakfast and then back to Nana's for one more visit before we hit the road.

So cold and dry! Look at all that static winter hair!
