Juliet turns 2!

Happy happy 2nd birthday to our sweet Julie B! You are the sweetest and spunkiest little lovebug, who keeps us on our toes every day and make us laugh while doing it. You have been our first child to try to jump out of shopping carts, climb onto the dining room table, throw a temper tantrum while laying on the floor in Target (in desperation I bribed you with fruit snacks) and try to stick your finger in the electrical socket. You love to snuggle (specifically "ON COUCH") and take every opportunity to get me there. When I sit down, you push me back to make sure I know you don't ever want me to get up. We joke that you never stop moving, but recently you have started sitting for longer periods as you have discovered a new love of books and puzzles. It's so much fun to watch you learn and grow. You have so many words and LOVE to talk as much as your sisters do. You have officially gotten to the age where you refuse to be left out and want to be a part of everything your sisters are doing. Watching the three of you play together is the best!

On the morning of your birthday, it was the sweetest to see your reaction to the gifts and special Daniel Tiger balloon waiting especially for you! I think your birthdays must be extra special because you have two big sisters by your side cheering you on the whole time. This year, Nagymama was here to celebrate with us too. We had birthday pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles. Then, you opened all your Daniel Tiger gifts!

Favorite toys/activities: reading books, doing puzzles, taking Ollie for a walk on the "EESH" (leash), putting on your "BOOTS" to go in the "CAR", singing songs and dancing, coloring

Favorite foods:  For breakfast, you love eggs, pancakes, french toast, all the fruit, cereal or cream cheese toast. You'll take cheese, yogurt and fruit any time of day. The only veggie I can get you to eat is tomatoes (which isn't even a veggie) or the spinach that I occasionally sneak into a shake. You still love your daddy's shakes and request one every morning. As for other meals, you tend to love all the kid friendly things like pizza, chicken tenders and pasta. The most important thing to you during a meal is that there is an assortment of condiments on your plate. You would only eat ranch, ketchup and honey mustard for dinner if I let you. You are still a pretty picky eater, but you might just be turning a corner. The other day you actually ate all of the turkey I put on your plate for lunch. Baby steps! 😉

Favorite songs: You always ask for music when we get into the car. Your favorite songs are usually whatever I have on repeat because of dances I'm working on and whatever album your sisters are loving. You love the Liv and Maddie soundtrack, It's Christmas by Mandisa and Toby Mac's Little Drummer Boy. Another favorite is the Kidz Bop version of 24K magic. The lyrics say, "Put your pinky rings up to the moon. What you trying to do?" You shout the word "moon" every time and then put your hands and shoulders in the "I don't know" position during the "what you trying to do?" part.

Just recently you have started passionately singing whenever a song is on.

Favorite TV show: Daniel Tiger and Elmo, but when the Netflix screen is up you always point to your sisters' favorite show (Liv and Maddie) and beg us to put it on. I think it's because you love dancing to the theme song.

Some of our favorite things you say:
"Uh-ooooooooo"
"Oooooooh cooool!"
"Wow!"
You call me "Meemee" and daddy "Deedee". You love calling people by their names and are pretty good at it. I love that you call Uncle Cory, "Cackee" and Johnny, "NahNah".
"Me", "Mine" and "No" are on repeat around here.
Your word explosion is happening and you are talking up a storm! You have something new to say everyday.

Your joy and belly laughs are contagious!

You bonded with Nagymama in new ways during this visit. You two are the sweetest together!

I love being your mommy, sweet girl!

You insisted on taking Ollie on walk and holding the leash all by yourself. Birthday girl wishes!

That weekend, Grammy and G-Diddy came to visit for birthday dinner. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to head downtown to walk along the river.

It was a great day celebrating you!

First Day of School 2017

This year, we sent a 2nd grader and Kindergartner off to their first day of school. Both girls ended up in our bed the night before because they woke up around three and couldn't back to sleep. All the first day of school nerves and excitement were happening over here.

Ella was equal parts nervous and excited as she lined up with her new Kindergarten class.

Our first day of school hair accessories were on point. 😍

One week later, Juliet started her two year nursery program at the same school. For two hours one morning a week, Juliet gets to play with friends, sing some songs and learn to share while I work in the school library. Initially, she was not happy about being left there. Fast forward a few weeks and she walks in on her own and excitedly talks about going to see "Ms. D". We are excited to see how Juliet grows and learns with her little friends this year. If you look really closely you can find Juliet in there...

Her favorites are playing with the baby dolls in the toy kitchen and jumping on the trampoline.

Here she is learning how to sit for snack time :)

A fresh new school year is always filled with so much promise. Here's to another great school year!

Labor Day Weekend 2017

If the our trip to the fair with Papa signals the end of summer, Labor Day weekend is the icing on the cake. We headed to the Bluff for the last weekend of summer to spend time with family and enjoy the last days of late bedtimes and no schedules before we headed back to school.

G-Diddy put on quite the fireworks show.

G-Diddy saves most of Juliet's meals with a "choo choo" or an airplane.

I love seeing how excited the girls get to catch frogs and other things I'd rather not touch. :) Abby was really proud of her Saturday find.

Ollie found his cozy spot...right on Nana's shoulder.

That's a wrap, summer!
