Apple Picking

Saturday was gorgeous and the perfect day to follow what felt like a week of endless rain! Sunny, beautiful blue sky with barely a cloud in sight and the temperature was about 65 degrees. It's fall days like these that I wish I could store in a box and take out sometime around mid-January. All that to say, we weren't going to let it go to waste! We went apple picking for the first time this season (and Abby's first time ever)! Grammy and G-Diddy joined us too.

Mommy, are you ready to go?

It really was my favorite kind of day!

Daddy, where are we? This place looks fun!

really loving her apple...loving it so much she would yell when we took it away

And for a fun surprise, we ran into some of our favorite friends who were apple picking too!

Of course, our trip wouldn't be complete without some apple cider donuts and a gallon of apple cider to take home. It definitely feels like fall now! I can't wait to break into our big bag of apples. The biggest decision is where to start....apple crisp, apple and cheddar quesadillas, applesauce, apple pie, caramel apple donuts, sausage and apple bake? C'mon over...I'm not going to eat all of this by myself!

Just because...

...I think these are the cutest jammies EVER!

Oh yes, that's Abby rolling across the room to see George and Robin on Good Morning America!

I think this is a good picture to show how LONG she has gotten.

Seriously, are they cute or what?

Papa's visit

My dad came to visit us for lunch this week. Abby warmed up to him really quickly and they started to play games together. She especially loved his gold necklace and glasses.

Abby attempts to figure out how to pull herself over and off the changing table.

Hey Mom! Look what I can do!

Fall Getaway

This past weekend, Joe, Abby and I packed up the car and headed to the Upstate New York Fall Getaway on Seneca Lake. Each year, students on college campuses from Buffalo to Albany gather to worship God, grow in their relationship with Him and have fun together! This was the 6th year Joe and I have gone. Wow! Time flies. I can't believe I have been going since MY junior year in college. I love it there and I look forward to the weekend every year. This year was especially sweet because it was Abby's first!

As always, God worked in really cool ways. Both students and staff heard from the Lord this weekend. Not only was it a great time of ministry, but personally and for our family as well. I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with good friends (who also happen to be moms on staff). We would spend time together while our little ones played (or looked at each other) and then we would sit and chat for hours when all the kids were in bed. I love this stuff! It was just what I needed. I count it such a blessing that God has allowed me to serve Him in this kind of environment. It's fun to think about Abby and her little buddies growing up together.

on our way...

hanging out with Daddy in the morning

Early in the morning everything was so peaceful and still. Perfect time for a family walk.

So Big!

Can we be friends forever?

Deanna was in Wildwood with us this summer. Abby loves the sweet songs Deanna sings to her.

swinging with Hannah. Anna Kate is pushing Abby on the swing! She's such a good helper. She told me she wants babysit Abby as soon as she gets a little older.

B-ball girl

Before Abby was born, my friend Alana bought her her very first pair of Nikes and a basketball rattle. Alana wanted to make sure Abby has everything needs to be a "baller". Not to mention pink and silver Nikes are adorable! Please note: Abby isn't just dressed up as any basketball girl, but a Syracuse basketball girl! GO 'Cuse!

Hey Daddy, look at my sneaks!

Checking them out...

Slam Dunk!

Thank you, Alana!
