Royal Recital 2018

It's an exciting day in our house when the dance recital and Royal Wedding land on the same day! With a house full of girls and a daddy who loves all things English history, there was a complete plan in place to wake up early and and watch Megan Markle become a princess! Abby loved knowing that this wasn't her first royal wedding watch party. She was just 15 months old when Prince William and Kate got married, so she was naturally up nice and early to watch with us as a toddler. Truth: Joe and I even set our alarm to watch it all in real time.

This year, Grammy was here with us for the royal celebration, which was complete with some wedding bingo, biscuits and jam.

So proud of our girls and my dance girls/boys! I still pinch myself to think God has given me the joy of: (1) watching my babies dance and enjoy every minute of it, (2) teaching classes full of kids I love AND (3) dancing with them this year. It was a night full of sweet moments! God is a redeemer!

The Shassel dancers! 🙂

We're All in This Together

With beautiful vases of recital flowers everywhere, the girls asked Grammy to teach them everything she knows about each one. Then, they practiced arranging for pretend wedding bouquets.

Johnny turns 2!

In April, Johnny turned 2 and we took a trip to celebrate with the birthday boy!

Juliet and Aunt Tori

Telling Uncle Tommy all the stories, while Uncle Tommy makes it two steps closer to his ultimate goal: convincing Juliet that they are going to be best friends

The girls had their first lesson in making flower arrangements with Grammy!

The trip wouldn't be complete without a walk to the hardware store for a Whiffer Sniffer and a stop at the playground for some cousin fun.

April Snapshots

Another 500 piece puzzle complete.

A doctor's visit in NYC makes for a fun day trip with my brother!

One of the best decisions we made this year was taking our biggest girls to see Chris Tomlin's Worship Night in America together.  What an unforgettable night for our family worshiping our Savior with so many others. He is a good good Father!

Messy sister faces

It was finally little sister's turn for her play date. She almost didn't nap because she was so excited for Callee to cross the street and come play! We love our neighbors!

More Spring Break playdates!

Let the potty training begin!

We took a special trip this spring to visit Nana! The girls loved having lunch with her and spending time visiting in her chair.

Juliet thought Nana's figurines reminded her of Grammy and G-Diddy.

On the way home, we stopped to visit good friends in Syracuse. Abby and Asher had different ideas about the way Mr. Rob's maple syrup smelled.

...and then there were 7. Weren't the four of us just college friends the other day? Love being with these guys!

Mondays feel rough after a week of break. A half day of Kindergarten wiped this girl right out that day.

This girl! Oh how you make us laugh, Juliet Grace!

The Wheels on the Bus

The precious moments my days are filled with...

Juliet has really started to play with "little people" like her sisters.  I love watching her sit alone and make voices for her characters.

Sunshine and popsicles...yes please! Bring it on Spring!

"I dare you. I'm kidding!"

I won't complain about our rainy Monday when I get to hang out with this sweet girl who can't get enough of her rain boots and umbrella. You know what they say about April showers...(all about the perspective). I'm ready for the flowers though.

Juliet's most special "lovie" is her Roka.

Sometimes you just need your mommy to hold you before bed.

When you are so excited to get outside and spend the morning soaking up all things spring instead of getting things done in the house AND then your friend texts and says she is in the neighborhood = a good morning walk and fun with friends.

Impromptu sunshine lunch picnics with Daddy

When Mommy isn't available, snuggling your big sister is the next best thing.

Old friends, new friends, an afternoon in Beacon and chocolate cake!

Couldn't leave Beacon without stopping to tell secrets, do handshakes and blow bubbles with Grandma!

Best way to end the day: family dinner. Love this crew and being together.

Bedtime stories with our real life "Shampoodle"!

The girls are IN LOVE with The Greatest Showman soundtrack and perform it any chance they get. One of Ella's very favorites is "The Other Side".
