What's new?

Four weeks over already and only three more to go. Our days in Wildwood are going by so quickly!

What's new?

Abby is sitting up better and better with support. When she is laying on my lap, she even lifts her head up. Crunches already?! She has some strong little ab muscles.

I noticed the other day that when she gets a hold of my water bottle, she puts it right up to her mouth and tries to suck on it. So, I went to the store and bought her a sippy cup made for 6 month olds. It has a soft top (like a bottle) and two handles. I figured she could play with it and practice putting it in her mouth. I put a little water in it and she loved it! She put it right in her mouth, tilted up a little and tried sucking.

I am convinced there is no better sound in the world than belly laughs. The other day, for the first time, Abby cracked up without me trying really hard to get her to laugh. Usually, I have to really get her going before she laughs, but today the cold wipe touched her belly and she cracked up! Such a joy-filled moment! She is ticklish, which makes playtime that much more fun.

When Abby wakes up in the morning and we are still in bed, Joe will go get her and bring her in to our bed for me to feed her. After I feed her, I put her down in between Joe and I. By then, Joe is usually turned over and drifting back into dreamland, but that doesn't stop Abby from trying to get her Daddy's attention. She turns her whole body and hits him on the back or grabs his shirt and pulls it until he turns over. When he turns over, she smiles from ear to ear. Mission Accomplished!

One more sidenote: Abby put her foot in her mouth today for the first time! Funny how things that would be totally gross as an adult is the cutest thing when babies do them!

Here are some pictures from our recent days:

Time for a nap

For Grammy...

Popping her collar like Grammy!

out for lunch

Today, Grammy and Granddaddy came for a visit and took us out to lunch on the boardwalk. We ate a a fun new place called Captain Jack's. I forgot my camera, but I got a few good shots on my phone.

It was great having some quality time with Joe too. With a busy project schedule, we haven't had much time to spend together this week. This afternoon was a treat. :)

They matched! I didn't realize until I saw Joe that afternoon.

Sunny summer days

We have been enjoying our days in Wildwood. I am so blessed to have the chance to spend time with other moms who are on project. There are 10 little ones total. Abby has had lots of time to watch the older kids play and they all love to play with her. It is fun to watch her interact with them.

Once a week, we have a women's staff lunch. This week, Abby got to spend time with Faith while I ate my sandwich!

After a long and hot morning, Abby took a nap on Mommy and Daddy's bed.

We have spent the last few afternoons enjoying this fun little pool. Abby did lots of watching, but yesterday I dipped her feet in and she loved it. I will have to get in myself and sit with her. She loves to splash in her tub, so I think she would love to splash in the pool. We'll see...(I promise to take pictures if that happens!)

Some of the kiddos enjoying the pool.

Yum! (or as Rachael Ray would say...Yum-o!)

Yesterday, Abby had her very first taste of rice cereal! She loved every minute of it. Of course for such a special occasion, we had to make sure she wore a very special bib. Go Cuse!

what's that, mom?

Ooo is that for me?

(Look at her take the spoon from me!)

When she took the spoon and started guiding it into her mouth, I had the confirmation that she was definitely ready for the introduction of cereal into her life. She is getting so big. (Do I say that in almost every entry? I can't get over it!)

Once she got the hang of it, she got excited and kept reaching for me. I couldn't get it to her fast enough.
