Jesus, Jokes & Some Sister Love

Last week marked Abby's first year of Vacation Bible School (VBS). She loved it so much that she asked us if she could go back after lunch everyday when we picked her up. We were sad for the week to end, but thankful for the seeds God planted in our little girl's heart.

We forgot to bring our video camera (sad mom moment). Though our phones couldn't zoom in to capture Abby's face as she sang her heart out, we managed to get some videos. Oh, how I wish you could have seen how invested she was in every song, each word and hand motion. It was precious.

Abby is front and center. She has a pink skirt on. In this video, she is standing and most of the other kiddos are sitting making it a little easier to see her.

Jokes: Abby is quite the actress and has recently started sharing her interpretations of us. Her imitation of me is hysterical and like most imitations pretty exaggerated. We can't get over how funny it is and the fact that she came up with it on her own. (Is that really what I act like?) Joe and Ella have both jumped on the bandwagon and it has become one big inside joke for our family. I'll be the subject of the jokes if it means we get to laugh as hard as we do.  Here is a little glimpse:

"It's been a good day....BLAH BLAH BLAH!" (insert hand motions here)

Sister love: It's no secret that Abby and Ella really love each other, but as Ella has grown she has gotten more and more attached to her big sister. When Abby goes somewhere, Ella has more separation anxiety than if Joe or I go out. When Abby comes home, Ella squeals with delight. Just yesterday, Ella and I picked Abby up from dance camp and as soon as Abby walked over to us, Ella wrapped her arms around Abby's neck and hugged her. So...when Ella wakes up from her nap before Abby, I have my work cut out for me because Ella knows exactly where her sister is. It takes lots of distracting to keep her from trying to go and wake Abby up. Ella just misses her so much when Abby is not there. The other day I caught it on video. It wasn't a one time funny moment either. This happens often. Most days I stop her, but some days the sister love just turns me into a puddle of mush and I stand by soaking it all in OR grabbing my camera as fast as I can.

Here's the video setup: Ella and I were in the living room. I went into the kitchen to get drinks and she took off down the hall as fast as she could when I wasn't looking. When I called her name to stop her, she ducked her head even lower, started crawling even faster and then this:
